About
Overview
Welcome to Takatsuki Jazz Street Website!
Takatsuki Jazz Street (TJS) is a Jazz-featured festival held on Takastuki-city, Osaka, Japan. We organized the 1st TJS in 1999, and it has been held every year since then. The main features of the TJS are the following:
- Jazz Festival from Takatsuki-city
- Organized by Volunteers
- FREE for Admission
1. Jazz Festival from Takatsuki-city
Our goal is to provide professional Live performance more closely from Takatsuki-city. Therefore, we had 10 TJS festivals until now.
Currently, the total number of joined musicians for 1 festival is over 3,000, which is including famous professional musicians from various countries. In addition, the 10th festival gathered about 100,000 audiences for 2 days. These numbers show that the TJS is one of the major music festivals in Japan. However, we know the TJS can not be held without supports from many people, e.g., staffs, audiences, musicians, sponsors. Of cource, they especially include many people who live in Taktsuki-city. So, we believe that our activities should help Takatsuki-city to grow and become more cheerful.
2. Organized by Volunteers
The TJS is organized by a member of TJS executive committee, and the committee consists of many volunteers. These volunteers come from various places, not only Osaka, and they have done many type of works to make the TJS more excellent event. Examples of our volunteers’s works are the following:
- Call for a donation from audiences
- Sell original T-shirt, food, drink
- Manage audiences with safety
- Construct event stage and configure sound equipment
- Clean event space for ecology
- Create pamphlet and website
We need your help for the TJS. If you have an interest in our activities, please contact us. We are sure that your sincere help makes our committee better and you can also enjoy specialized experiences with us!
3. FREE for Admission
In order to enjoy Live performance in the TJS, all you need is only FREE pamphlet! This means that you can gain an admission for all significant performance without any cost. However, you know, we need so much money to organize the TJS because it takes high cost to call excellent professional musicians.
Currently, we take some methods to make money, e.g., selling original goods such as T-shirt (we call “Jazz-T” and its design is changed every year), advertising on a pamphlet, calling for a donation. If you hope the TJS to continue forever, please buy the cool Jazz-T!
In Conclusion
In this year, of cource we will have the TJS all over Takatsuki-city, and they include cafe/bar, theater, baseball ground, and so on. For more details of event places and musicians, check the map and schedule on this website.
We hope all of you will join us and enjoy our amazing Jazz festival!
Thank you.
